Marble Cake Loaf Recipe
Ingredients
• 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
• 1 ½ tsp baking powder
• ¼ tsp salt
• 1 cup (200g) sugar
• 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
• 3 large eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• ½ cup (120ml) milk
• 3 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
• 2 tbsp hot water
Instructions
Cream butter and sugar until pale and fluffy. Mix in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt together, then fold into the mixture alternately with milk until smooth.
Divide the batter into two bowls. In one bowl, mix cocoa powder with hot water to make a paste, then stir it into the batter.
Grease and line a loaf pan. Spoon vanilla and chocolate batter alternately, then swirl lightly with a skewer or knife to create a marble effect.
Bake at 175°C (350°F) for 45–55 minutes, or until a skewer inserted comes out clean. Cool slightly, then turn out onto a rack.
