Ingredients:

For the cake:
2 cups All-purpose flour (250g)
2 cups Granulated sugar (400g)
ΒΌ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder (25g)
1 tsp Baking soda
Β½ tsp Salt
2 Eggs
Β½ cup Buttermilk (120ml)
2 twp Vanilla extract
1 cup Unsalted butter (225g)
1 cup Hot water (240ml)

For the fudge icing:
Β½ cup Unsalted butter (115g)
ΒΌ cup Unsweetened cocoa powder(25g)
ΒΌ cup Milk (60ml)
2 Β½ cups Powdered sugar (450g), sifted
1 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 180Β°C (350Β°F). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch sheet pan.
In a large bowl, whisk flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla.
In a saucepan, melt butter with hot water, bring just to a boil, then pour into dry ingredients. Stir well.
Add the egg mixture and mix until smooth. Batter will be thin.
Pour into pan and bake for 20–25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.

Icing:
In a saucepan, melt butter with cocoa and milk. Bring to a gentle boil, stirring.
Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth and glossy.
Pour the warm icing over the hot cake and spread evenly.
Let set before slicing into squares.
