🧁 Ingredients
🧈 For the Shortbread Base:
• 200g all-purpose flour
• 60g sugar
• 150g unsalted butter (cold and cubed)
🍯 For the Caramel Layer:
• 1 can (397g) sweetened condensed milk
• 100g unsalted butter
• 100g light brown sugar
• 2 tbsp golden syrup or honey
• Pinch of salt 🧂
🍫 For the Chocolate Topping:
• 200g dark or milk chocolate (your choice!)
• 1 tsp vegetable oil or butter (for shine)
👩🍳 Instructions
1. Make the Shortbread Base:
• Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
• Mix flour and sugar. Rub in cold butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
• Press into a lined 20x20cm (8×8 inch) square tin.
• Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Cool completely.
2. Make the Caramel:
• In a saucepan, melt butter, sugar, syrup, and condensed milk over low heat.
• Stir constantly until it thickens and turns a golden caramel color (about 10–15 minutes).
• Pour over cooled shortbread and spread evenly.
• Chill in the fridge until set (about 1 hour).
3. Make the Chocolate Topping:
• Melt chocolate with oil or butter (microwave or double boiler).
• Pour over caramel layer, tilt to spread evenly.
• Chill again until fully set (about 30–60 minutes).
